Another Quilt Finished

October 11, 2007

Well, I finished the Double Aster Quilt. The quilting wasn’t quite what I had in mind but it turned out okay. I love the colors and the design, now I just need to practice some more on my quilting of leaves. I have another piece of fabric in the same design but different colors I may do once I get some orders finished and mailed but I think I’ll do some different quilting. If I like it, I may take out the quilting on this quilt and do it over.

Better get to work. Happy Quilting!100_1268-2.jpg

A Work in Progress

October 8, 2007

Well, I took Randi’s advice and decided to work on the Double Aster quilt. It is going to be a wall hanging but I love the colors. I have run into a problem quilting it but have been practicing and practicing, drawing leaves. I got the book “Just Leaf It” from Kim Stotsenberg and have been practicing for the last couple of days so I’m going to try again to do these on this quilt. I had tried doing a small laurel wreath on Saturday but ended up frogging it out because I didn’t like how it looked (very bad quilting). So, today, if I have some time, I’m going to try again. My practice drawings are looking better and better so hopefully I can do the same on the quilt. We’ll see.

Here’s a picture of a slice of the quilt. When finished, I will post the whole thing. Wish me luck on my leaves. I think this quilt is just calling for those and hopefully, my practice will pay off.

Happy Quilting!
